Cambodia: The amount of foreign tourists increased by 11% (26/07/2010)
VH-Cambodian Tourism Minister Thong Khon said the amount of foreign visitors to Cambodia in the first six months of 2010 increased 11% over the same period last year due to the economic recovery in Asia.
Mr Thong Khon, the Government’s commitment in keeping the city clean, green and also attract visitors to Southeast Asian countries with over 800 historic temples, 80 ancient bridges and many beaches, parks this resort and waterfalls. However, the recovery of Asian economies is the main factor to increase foreign visitors to Cambodia.
In the first six months in 2010, the total number of foreign visitors to Cambodia by road, air and sea to more than 1.2 million people compared with 1.08 million tourists a year earlier. Cambodia hopes of foreign tourists will increase from 2.16 million in 2009 to 2.4 million in 2010.
